Pregnancy Update - 33 weeks (Part 2)

There is good news and not so good news to share.

The not so good is that I have started to dialate. I am starting to take terbutaline to help slow down or stop the contractions in order to keep our little man in the oven for at least another 2-weeks. Strict bed rest will continue. Unfortunately the meds are making me want to crawl out of my skin but for the sake of the baby its worth it.

Good news is that the little guy is measuring about 1-week ahead. He is just shy of 5lbs (approximate) and we're told he's long and lean. Check out the 3d images below along with the those squeezable cheeks!

Weight check - minus 2.5lbs so total of 10lb gain.

Here is a side view. The front you'll see his right arm pass by his right leg. His knee is near his mouth then you'll see the foot/toes in the upper right.

Here is the little guy's face. You can see his hand to the right. The scrunchy part to the left of the nose is actually the umbilical cord in front of his face.

Pregnancy Update - 33 weeks

Pray for us to keep our little boy in the oven for at least 3-more weeks. Stephanie is now officially on maternity leave. Here is a little run down of what has been happening this last week.

Contractions have started last Tuesday night and then have been continuing since. Mostly irregular though Wednesday brought on regular timeable contractions which sent Stephanie straight to the doctor. Baby's heartrate is 150bpm, moving (rolling) and belly is measuring 32 weeks so all is good - except for contractions. At this time they weren't contemplating bed rest but just to take it easy and put my feet up whenever possible.

Friday, contractions were again ever present. Just after lunchtime, the Doc had decided that bed rest was necessary.

Saturday sent us to the hospital. Advanced warning - may be too much info for some.... I was feeling yucky and at lunchtime has a bloody, mucus discharge. We were so scared that this was the day we would deliver our little boy. Kurt managed to get us to the hospital in what would normally be a 30 minute trip to about 15-20 minutes. They hooked me up to all the monitors and started all the checks. I kept having contractions though they weren't showing on the monitor. Cramping started as well. They ran a bunch of tests and rulled out my water breaking, urinary tract infection, bladder infection, yeast infection and amniotic fluids were good. They didn't exactly know what was happening. After 5 hours, we were sent home on strict bed rest with only bathroom privleges and to go to Dr. Bochantin on Monday (moving our Thursday appointment ahead).

So here we are on Sunday, all lounging in the recliners or on the couch watching "The Lion King". We'll post more following the doctor visit (we'll get to see the baby again and see how big he is right now!).

Who does Addie favor?

We had to share this great photo of Kurt and his dad, Greg (sorry in advance Greg - don't hate me!). The photo is from the July 4th holiday, 1976. Kurt is about 1-1/2 years old. The back of the photo reads, "Sat, July 3, 1976 - Kurt & Greg Webster - Claudia had given Greg a perm - By Mary Jean Webster". Now we all kid about how Grandma Webster wrote so much on the backs of photos, but now you can see the great advantages of having the information! Now here is a photo of Adeline at 1-1/2 years. Is there any resemblence?

Or is the resemblence with Mom?

Pregnancy Update - 32 weeks

We had our 32 week prenatal visit today. Nothing too eventful. Boy Webster** is moving about all the time with a lot of hiccups. Boy this can get annoying but it is quite humourous to see my belly jerk around. BP was good. Baby's heart rate was 153 bpm. Measuring good. Lost 3-lbs in the last 2-weeks due to a cold and just feeling plain yucky. Total weight gain is 12 lbs to date. I think I was +12 lbs with Addie by 3-4 monts pregnant - definately each pregnancy is different or just having a 3-year old running around makes the difference!

I am not too excited about lots of photos of my pregnant belly so you won't see many. Sorry to those who might be expecting it. It just isn't for me.

Next visit is Thursday, September 27. We have our last sonogram to see how big the boy is and to potentially go ahead and schedule the repeat c-section for the last week of October. It's tenantively no later than November 2.

** Still working on names for Boy Webster and will likely be doing so until he is born and we meet our second little wonder.
