Have a Merry Christmas

Let it Snow!

Saturday (12/15) we all enjoyed seeing the snow fall. It was a good day to just hang out inside where it is warm. Kurt and Addie went outside to break-in the snow plow blade on the John Deere.

Garrett is now 2-months old....

Garrett had his 2-month check-up last Friday (12/07/07). He was exactly 9 weeks old. He now weighs in at 11 lb 11.9 oz. It is hard to believe that he was premature!! He also had his immunizations and the next synagis injections continued this week.

Where has the time gone...

Garrett is now 6 weeks old (1-month in the pictures above). He is now also a growing 9lb-7oz as of 11/15/07 when he received his first Synagis injection. Synagis is the preventive therapy for RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) which can be extremely serious in premature infants due to immature lung development. It is heartbreaking to have your little ones get shots and in pain but it would be much more difficult to have him become ill with RSV.

We are gearing up for Thanksgiving and the 3-turkey day celebrations. Spending time with family is wonderful and yet tiring all at the same time.

We are also working to ready the house for the Elmwood Holiday Tour of Homes. I had a weak moment and volunteered to showcase our home. I am getting some decorating assistance from a local shop - The Fair Store, Tami has some great ideas. It really will be a great time and has gotten Kurt and I pushed to hang pictures up and complete a few minor projects. We'll get to meet some new people along the way also. We'll post photos of the house in a few weeks.

Happy Halloween - Part 1

Adeline was not at all interested in digging out the pumpkin insides. This is here "ooh, yuk" face.

Garrett was enjoying the annual pumpkin carving day!

The Webster pumpkin family!

............Stay tuned for the costume edition/part 2 this week.

Adeline's Pre-School Photo

She's such the big girl - all grown up and a great big sister to boot! She'll immediately correct you if you say she goes to daycare by saying it is "not daycare, it is school!".

More Addie Pre-School Photos

These photos were taken at Addie's pre-school this past August. A local professional photographer comes to the school every year. Typically, Addie does not cooperate but these photos that we picked are amazing. They took many more and all were great but these were the best. The photographer will even be using a few of the shots when updating their website. These really make her look all gown up and she'll only 3!

Addie and Garrett after Garrett's first (sink) bath (10/12/07)! Addie called him a duckling because of his fuzzy head!!

I found Garrett sucking his thumb today (10/12/07).

Here's just a photo of him awake. Garrett is 8 days old (10/13/07).

Adeline's introduction to Garrett

Here is Adeline's first introduction to Garrett. She is still super sweet to him. Unfortunately, I am sure this newness will wear off but for now it is very precious. Enjoy.

Introducing - Garrett Allan Webster

Born - Friday, October 5, 2007
5lbs 6.4 oz - 17.75 in

Garrett arrived at 35 weeks gestation. Thursday night was filled with contractions and cramping which sent us to Labor and Delivery. The nurses and doctors made every attempt to stop them but they continued and increased in strength, duration and frequency. At 6am Friday, I had begun to dilate to the point that they needed to take action. They quickly prepped me with an epideral for a repeat c-section. By 7am, my doctor arrived, I was fully dilated and the little guy was on his way out so quickly the decision was made to have a VBAC. Garrett arrived minutes later at 7:13am. The best part is that he shares the same birthday as Grandpa Webster!!

He spent his time in the hospital in the Level II nursery in an isollette. His respitory was up and down at first but then leveled off. He also had to prove he could maintain temperature. We were thrilled to find out this afternoon that his pediatrician was releasing him.

We're all doing great! Here are some photos.

Pregnancy Update - 34w + 2d

The Doctor visit today went well. I am into 1-week of bed rest and terbutaline which has stopped any cervical changes though I still have intermitent contractions. I'll get to stop taking the terbutaline this weekend once I hit the 35 week mark which will be a great thing as the continuous shakes will cease. I gained 1lb this week so we are at +11 lbs so far. Hopefully the little guy is gaining as well. Blood pressure is good, baby's heart rate is good.

So bed rest continues and with any luck she'll let me get up and about more after next weeks visit. I am still on "disability" at work but working part-time as I see fit at home.

Baby day could be from anytime to November 2. We want him healthy and able to come home with us for sure but let's hope it is somewhere in between as I might just go completely bananas if not.

Pregnancy Update - 33 weeks (Part 2)

There is good news and not so good news to share.

The not so good is that I have started to dialate. I am starting to take terbutaline to help slow down or stop the contractions in order to keep our little man in the oven for at least another 2-weeks. Strict bed rest will continue. Unfortunately the meds are making me want to crawl out of my skin but for the sake of the baby its worth it.

Good news is that the little guy is measuring about 1-week ahead. He is just shy of 5lbs (approximate) and we're told he's long and lean. Check out the 3d images below along with the those squeezable cheeks!

Weight check - minus 2.5lbs so total of 10lb gain.

Here is a side view. The front you'll see his right arm pass by his right leg. His knee is near his mouth then you'll see the foot/toes in the upper right.

Here is the little guy's face. You can see his hand to the right. The scrunchy part to the left of the nose is actually the umbilical cord in front of his face.

Pregnancy Update - 33 weeks

Pray for us to keep our little boy in the oven for at least 3-more weeks. Stephanie is now officially on maternity leave. Here is a little run down of what has been happening this last week.

Contractions have started last Tuesday night and then have been continuing since. Mostly irregular though Wednesday brought on regular timeable contractions which sent Stephanie straight to the doctor. Baby's heartrate is 150bpm, moving (rolling) and belly is measuring 32 weeks so all is good - except for contractions. At this time they weren't contemplating bed rest but just to take it easy and put my feet up whenever possible.

Friday, contractions were again ever present. Just after lunchtime, the Doc had decided that bed rest was necessary.

Saturday sent us to the hospital. Advanced warning - may be too much info for some.... I was feeling yucky and at lunchtime has a bloody, mucus discharge. We were so scared that this was the day we would deliver our little boy. Kurt managed to get us to the hospital in what would normally be a 30 minute trip to about 15-20 minutes. They hooked me up to all the monitors and started all the checks. I kept having contractions though they weren't showing on the monitor. Cramping started as well. They ran a bunch of tests and rulled out my water breaking, urinary tract infection, bladder infection, yeast infection and amniotic fluids were good. They didn't exactly know what was happening. After 5 hours, we were sent home on strict bed rest with only bathroom privleges and to go to Dr. Bochantin on Monday (moving our Thursday appointment ahead).

So here we are on Sunday, all lounging in the recliners or on the couch watching "The Lion King". We'll post more following the doctor visit (we'll get to see the baby again and see how big he is right now!).

Who does Addie favor?

We had to share this great photo of Kurt and his dad, Greg (sorry in advance Greg - don't hate me!). The photo is from the July 4th holiday, 1976. Kurt is about 1-1/2 years old. The back of the photo reads, "Sat, July 3, 1976 - Kurt & Greg Webster - Claudia had given Greg a perm - By Mary Jean Webster". Now we all kid about how Grandma Webster wrote so much on the backs of photos, but now you can see the great advantages of having the information! Now here is a photo of Adeline at 1-1/2 years. Is there any resemblence?

Or is the resemblence with Mom?

Pregnancy Update - 32 weeks

We had our 32 week prenatal visit today. Nothing too eventful. Boy Webster** is moving about all the time with a lot of hiccups. Boy this can get annoying but it is quite humourous to see my belly jerk around. BP was good. Baby's heart rate was 153 bpm. Measuring good. Lost 3-lbs in the last 2-weeks due to a cold and just feeling plain yucky. Total weight gain is 12 lbs to date. I think I was +12 lbs with Addie by 3-4 monts pregnant - definately each pregnancy is different or just having a 3-year old running around makes the difference!

I am not too excited about lots of photos of my pregnant belly so you won't see many. Sorry to those who might be expecting it. It just isn't for me.

Next visit is Thursday, September 27. We have our last sonogram to see how big the boy is and to potentially go ahead and schedule the repeat c-section for the last week of October. It's tenantively no later than November 2.

** Still working on names for Boy Webster and will likely be doing so until he is born and we meet our second little wonder.

Webster Vacation to Cincinnati, OH

Here are just a few odds and ends from vacation to Cincinnati. We left 08/11 (our 6th wedding anniversary) and returned 08/15. The trip was a breeze for both pregnant mommy and potty learning Addie. Addie called the hotel our "vacation home", which was very cute.
The time away was nice though now we are happy to be home and are gearing up for work around the house and Addie's 3rd birthday party. We hope to see you all here!

Newport Aquarium

Lots to see at the Newport Aquarium (Newport, KY). It is difficult to get good photos of fish, sharks, etc that are in water and behind glass so hence not many posted here. Addie was a little freaked out by the areas where the glass/water tank went above our heads but aside from that we had a great time.
