Look Mom & Dad....almost no hands! Addie is getting more and more adventuresome every day. She is getting close to standing on her own and before we know it she'll be walking, although I don't think we're quite ready! Posted by Picasa

The Webster Family Vacation - Black Hills of South Dakota

We made our first extended trip with Adeline and traveled to the Black Hills of South Dakota. She was a great traveler and much less crabby than Mommy!

The reason for the trip was two-fold - 1) Kurt was speaking at a conference for the International Oil Mill Superintendents Association (IOMSA) and 2) to see the sights!

Crazy Horse Memorial. It is to be the world's largest mountain carving. Mount Rushmore, if placed inside of the Crazy Horse Memorial, would fit in the head section of Crazy Horse!

Unfortunately, we visited the site during the morning and missed the night time blast and light show. They only have 2-night time blasts each year - that would have been something to see! Posted by Picasa

The mountain carving for the Crazy Horse Memorial continues. The model is 1/34th scale. Currently Crazy Horse's head is complete and is nearly 9-stories tall! Posted by Picasa

Stavkirke Chapel is located in Rapid City, SD and is an exact copy of the 830-year old Borgund Church in Norway.  Posted by Picasa

Devils Tower National Monument in Northeast Wyoming. It was a must-see for all but certainly for Kurt as a fan of "Close Encounters..." Posted by Picasa

You can still see the damage from the 1988 forest fires. Although, many new pine seedlings are coming up. Posted by Picasa
